Tiredy McTiredface

That's me! So tired! And on top of that, I have a cold. I think in the 10 years I've been working at gem show, I've only managed to avoid getting a cold twice. I was hoping that my greatly improved fitness (plus the immunity boosting tea I've been drinking all week) would have protected me, but alas, the germs got through anyway. Stupid germs.

The cold meant that I had to stay home from dance class, which annoys me for two reasons... first, tonight's focus was slow moves, which I REALLY need to work on, and second, there's no class next week. Two weeks without class, after already missing one due to weather. Grrr. I am SO mad about being sick. I don't think I can even express it without cursing, and I try to keep this blog clean.

Other than that, I'm having a great time, shopping, working, and seeing lots of friends. I look forward to sharing my finds when I've recovered, but right now I am just too worn-out to even think of messing around with photos.

Tomorrow is the Swarovski party, and I am determined to not be too sick to attend. I want to see the previews of the new items, hang out with friends (without stopping to help customers!), show off my new necklace, and dance.

  1. I make the angry face and the shooing gestures of Might at your illness. Away, illness! Let our Erthefae get back to dancing!

Perhaps this is a sign from the universe that you need to spend more time vegging on the internet? I mean, ah, contributing to the online community? That's how I always read such things.;P

  2. Sorry you got sick, AJ. Hope you feel better soon.

  3. I think everybody who works the shows gets sick.

I wonder if you'll see what Swarovski is donating for a prize for this year's Competition!

  4. Oh bummer! So sorry to hear you got sick. Seems like I got sick at least once or twice a year when I worked for Mark & Betcey.

I don't like to missing class or rehearsal, too.

    Hope you feel better soon.

  5. Cara, the shooing gestures were moderately successful. The cold is lingering, but has never moved beyond that mild first day "aw crud, I'm getting sick" feeling.

I usually spend WAY too much time vegging on the net! But I am looking forward to catching back up with FAE Team. I've missed you guys so much this week!

Thank you, Arline! I think I'll get better fast now that I'm not working all day.

Marilee, Swarovski didn't have much out on display! It was weird. Usually they have all of the new cuts and colors for the Spring Launch on display, but this time they just had 1 color and most of the new cuts. There's a new green coming and it was not the one they had out :( I'll have to wait until Betcey gets them in and sends them for me to string!

SaraBeth, it is SO hard to stay healthy when you're working shows. I usually only dodge colds at shows where I spend the entire time sitting in the back packaging, instead of interacting with customers and their germs ;)

I'm so upset about missing class because I'm already a bit behind, due to jumping ahead when I'd only taken 2 of 3 Beginner classes. I think I'm going to try to get a private lesson next month to smooth out the moves that I've had to learn on the fly. At least Tiffany posted our homework on Facebook, so I know what moves I need to practice. I just wish I knew what new ones we'd covered!

  6. Go for a private lesson or two! Can you contact someone from the class to find out what new moves were taught?

  7. I asked on Facebook and no one responded. Maybe they just practiced slow moves? One friend did ask if I was going to War this week, so maybe she was going to show me what I missed. (I'm not going, so it's a moot point)

  8. The Estrella Wars? Loved that, especially when they held it at Estrella Park, which is only about 20-30 minute drive from my house. I was really disappointed when the moved it down to Florence. At least, I think that's where it was moved to.
