I packed four more boxes of books today. I think the remaining two should pretty much take care of the few stray books scattered throughout the apartment. But all the boxes are in my beadroom, and I'm not sure that I can really move them to get to my beads. *sigh* It's going to be a long three weeks.
Mom and I went out to lunch, and I went into this boutique that had a few great steampunk-y skirts. It was hard to resist buying them, but the steep price tags on the two I really liked made it a little easier. Besides, I have enough clothes to move!
The only other thing I have to say is that I am SO tired!
Can your mom look at a skirt and sew it?
ReplyDeleteNo, Mom only sews from patterns. But there was nothing so special about any of those skirts that I couldn't make something similar once I learn how to sew.
ReplyDeleteThe hardest would be the one that was sort of ruched or gathered at several spots around the bottom. Mom said it reminded her of Lily Munster, which I said was OK, because she was one of my fashion icons (seriously, when I was a kid I loved her dress!).
Sometimes those gathers are inset, so the dress further up is sleek.
ReplyDeleteThey might have been inset, I didn't look close enough to see. It's definitely the sort of thing that I won't tackle until I'm an experienced seamstress.
