Bored of earrings

I kind of never want to see another pair of earrings again. I'm bored of editing photographs of them. I'm bored of describing them. I'm bored of posting them on Facebook and promoting them on my blog. Don't get me wrong, I love earrings, and I'm happy to have beauties like Dawn Flowers (shown above) available in my shop Handmade Jewelry by Erthe Fae Designs. There's just such a thing as too much of a good thing.

So today it's time for a little break. I've already listed a few pairs of earrings and I can't see myself listing any more. If I do, my ennui is going to show in my descriptions. I need to work on something else. Make a necklace, or a bracelet. Do SEO on other jewelry in my shop. Organize beads. Basically, anything but what I've been doing since Thursday!

Working on my BFAC

I know this post isn't much without pictures, so I'll try to have some in-progress shots soon. I finally started my 2011 Layne's Legacy -- Beading For A Cure project about a week ago. It's due at the start of August. It's been years since I procrastinated this much on starting one. Kind of odd, because I love the bead kit and I decided exactly what I wanted to do and what components to add soon after receiving the kit. I've just been so busy with dancing and the gym and such that I haven't wanted to tackle a large-scale beading project. Now with a looming deadline, I really have no choice.

Bezeled rivolis will form the focal point. Since almost every weaving project I've done this year has involved at least one peyote-stitched bezel (around a rivoli or a button), I'm really quite bored of them. Once I'm done with this it's time for some bead embroidery!

I got bored

I don't know what it was, but I just did not feel particularly engaged by the internet last week. I checked things, but I didn't feel particularly motivated to post on this blog, Facebook, or Twitter, nor did I participate on the FAE Team Etsy forum thread, or do as much e-mail as I usually do. I'm trying to get back into the swing of things now.

The above necklace is my latest Artbeads blogging project. I'll do a real post about it tomorrow, after I've photographed the other items I received.

I've also received the crystals for my BFAC project, but I don't know if it will be the next thing I work on. I'm still beading away on my Grass Moon project, Egg Moon awaits, and there are a few other focals I'd like to play with. Clearly, I need to dedicate more hours of my day to beading.

But there's dancing, too! I have so much to practice, so many things that I need and want to drill so I can get really good at them. So I need to spend more time on that, too!

So internet, as much as I love you, I think we may have to spend a little more time apart!

Today was the boring day

And by boring, I actually mean, chock-full of chores. Every year, there's a day or two between when I start shopping, and when the show I work at starts, and that's when I get all of my last minute stuff done. As such, there's really nothing to blog about. I'm sure you don't really want to hear about my laundry or grocery shopping.

I did finish the edging on my necklace. The rest will have to wait until Wednesday night. I am so excited about it!

I'm boring today!

Tonight is the last week of gaming-on-Tuesdays, unless of course the next session of Krav Maga classes is also on Wednesday nights. I'm not sure if they've set the schedule yet -- I'm too busy keeping track of my belly dance schedule, and already thinking ahead to gem show in a month and a half.

Anyway, since it's a gaming night, that means today is a cleaning day. I got sick of all the clutter and mess that had been building up, so I'm doing more than my usual spot cleaning. It's incredibly boring, but also necessary. I'd like to greet the New Year with a tidy house, and be ready to make some improvements before my in-laws visit in February. Chris pointed out the other day that it felt like we were still living in a rental, because we hadn't done much to make the house ours. What little effort has gone into the house has all been put into the game room, and even that's not finished yet.

Well, back to the grindstone for me.

Packing is boring.

I spent most of today packing. And you know what? It was boring. And talking about it is boring. And tomorrow, when I do more, it will also be boring.

Part of what I'm going to do tomorrow is move boxes out of the beadroom so I can get to my beads and create! I'm so bored of just working and doing stuff on my computer. I need to make something. I'm not sure what yet, it will depend on what catches my eye tomorrow. Probably something simple and portable, so I can take it to gaming. I'd really love to start another embroidered project, but that might have to wait until after we move.

Moving, by the way, is just a couple of weeks away. YAY!
